At the request of the Hong Kong International Film Festival I curated and spoke on these four programs of Brakhage films below. Reactions were generally good; some viewers seemed genuinely moved. Fred Camper
Brakhage in Hong Kong

Program One:
Desistfilm. 1954. 16mm; 7 minutes; black and white; sound.
The Wonder Ring. 1955. 16mm; 6 minutes; color; silent.
Anticipation of the Night. 1958. 16mm; 42 minutes; color; silent.
Window Water Baby Moving. 1959. 16mm; 12 minutes; color; silent.
The Dead. 1960. 16mm; 11 minutes; color; silent.
    This program was presented twice, on April 8, 2004 at 7:15 PM at the Hong Kong City Hall Theatre and on April 11, 2004 at 6:00 PM at the Hong Kong Space Museum Lecture Hall.

Program Two:
Mothlight. 1963. 16mm; 3 minutes; color; silent.
Dog Star Man. 1961-64. 16 mm, 75 minutes, color, silent. [Dog Star Man consists of the five parts below, which were also released as separate films.]

    This program was presented twice, on April 9, 2004 at 12:30 PM at the Hong Kong Space Museum Lecture Hall and on April 12, 2004 at 3:00 PM at the Hong Kong Science Museum Lecture Hall. Unfortunately due to a mistkae by the distributor Prelude was not sent. Part 1 was shown twice at the first screening, due to an extra copy being placed in the can marked Prelude, and Prelude was projected, with apologies, from the DVD at the second screening, with emergency authorization from Marilyn Brakhage.
